MAN VISITS EVERY BLOOD BANK IN AUSTRALIA

Fifty-nine-year-old Trevor Bergman of Melbourne, Australia, is a special guy. While he’s helped many people in his career as a police officer, he’s also made an impact on many others as a blood donor. Trevor happens to be one of only 150 Australians known to carry the anti-D antibody in their blood. This ultra-rare blood type is given to pregnant mothers when certain problems arise.

Through the years, Trevor While has donated blood 545 times — and has visited every single donation center in the country. He was inspired to attempt the blood donation adventure while on vacation. His big idea was to enjoy as much of Australia as he could, saving lives along the way.

At record-setting final stop in Canberra, Trevor was celebrated by Australia’s Governor-General Sam Mostyn, who accompanied him to an Australian Red Cross Lifeblood center, where the two donated blood together.
