A bagel shop in Southport, North Carolina, got an unexpected visitor when a 3-foot alligator wandered in through an open back door and strolled through the kitchen before ending up at the front counter.
Jesse Driscoll, the owner of Bagel Dock Express, says he was stunned when he spotted the reptile and quickly called 911. The shop was closed at the time, and police and animal services safely removed the gator. Luckily no one was hurt. Driscoll later joked, “Apparently, word of our fresh bagels has made its way into the swamp.” (WWAY-TV Wilmington, NC)
