England’s Got an Ant Problem

Police in England are on the hunt for some very tiny suspects after thousands of rare ants mysteriously vanished from a nature reserve.

The stolen colony belonged to the narrow-headed ant, England’s rarest ant species, and conservationists say the theft could have a major impact because the nest contained breeding queens that can live for up to 25 years. Officials are asking anyone with information to come forward, though investigators admit it’s a tough case. So far, they don’t have many leads… just a lot of ant-ecedotal evidence.

For now, authorities are hoping someone will help them track down the missing residents before this tiny crime grows into a big problem.
