Vegas students gamble on record-setting blanket fort

Congratulations are in order for a group of Las Vegas students. Though they’re not yet out of high school, they’ve already set a Guinness World Record.

Teens from West Career & Technical Academy got together with volunteers at the Desert Breeze Community Center to try to build the world’s largest blanket fort.

While it may sound easy and fun, there were actually several rules to consider: There had to be no gaps in the fort larger than an inch, all the sheets or blankets had to touch the ground, and there had to be enough room in each enclosure to comfortably sit.

In the end, they did it, constructing a 14,103 square feet fort from bedding, besting the 12,291 square foot record set in South Carolina in 2024.
