A flight in Japan was canceled after a snake was discovered in the cabin.
The 16-inch-long, non-venomous snake was found slithering under the carpet of a Japan Air Commuter plane at Fukuoka Airport. The aircraft was scheduled to take off, but airline officials grounded the flight while crews searched for the reptile. The snake, identified as a juvenile Japanese striped snake, was finally captured about 24 hours later by a wildlife expert. Airline officials say they still don’t know how it got onboard, but believe it likely came from the wild, as opposed to a passenger bringing on board.
The airline says it’s the first time it has encountered a snake inside an aircraft cabin, calling it a one-of-a-kind incident and apologizing to passengers for the disruption. (Metro UK)
