A Florida man is accused of trying to rob several banks while wearing what investigators describe as a highly realistic old-man mask.
Federal prosecutors say the disguise was so convincing, he looked like he was ready to collect Social Security, not cash from the teller. Authorities say the mask was part of a string of bank heists, but apparently even a Hollywood-level disguise couldn’t keep investigators guessing for long. 40-year-old David Sartin Jr. now faces federal charges, proving once again that if you’re going to commit a crime in Florida, there’s a good chance you’ll end up as somebody’s punchline.
Police haven’t said whether the mask came with bifocals, a coupon organizer, or complaints about how expensive everything is these days. But prosecutors say the alleged getaway plan has officially aged poorly. (WTVT-TV Tampa)
