A retired couple in England has spent the last 15 years fostering 59 rescue dogs in their home — and they have zero plans of stopping. Nicole and Gary Wordsworth take in pups from a local shelter whenever the dogs get too stressed or overwhelmed by kennel life.
The dogs end up staying anywhere from a couple of nights to 18 months — and come in all shapes and sizes, including everything from a cuddle-loving husky that does a “happy food dance” to a giant American bulldog.
Nicole and Gary love helping the nervous pups relax, uncover their unique personalities, and find their forever homes. While the dogs enjoy their stay, Nicole and Gary get a lot out of the experience as well.
“It is so rewarding to see them relax and find their little personality poking out — you are doing a good thing,” explained Gary. “And you get to have a furry friend by your side. It’s a win-win.”
