Dennis Haskins, the actor best known as Principal Richard Belding on Saved by the Bell, has died. He was 75.
Haskins passed away Monday at his home in Chattanooga, Tennessee, his agent confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter. A cause of death was not immediately disclosed.
Born in Chattanooga, Haskins first played Belding on the Disney Channel series Good Morning, Miss Bliss before continuing the role when the show was reworked into NBC’s Saved by the Bell in 1989. He remained with the franchise through Saved by the Bell: The New Class, ultimately portraying the Bayside High principal for more than a decade.
Haskins also appeared in numerous television series and films during a career spanning several decades, including The Dukes of Hazzard, Magnum, P.I. and Mad Men.
