A GPS mistake turned into a life-saving miracle when a total stranger took a wrong turn — and saved a family of 14 from a burning home in Georgia.
Casey Sparks and his son were heading home to Alabama when their GPS failed them and sent them on a detour down an unfamiliar rural highway. While trying to get back on the right path, they spotted flames pouring from a house at the top of a hill.
Casey immediately pulled over and rushed inside the home — waking up father James Burke and helping his wife, 11 children, and a grandchild get outside to safety just minutes before the fire swept through the structure.
While the family lost their house, everyone made it out unharmed — and neighbors immediately rallied with calls, donations, and loving support to help them rebuild their lives.
Casey says he was never in fear during the tense moments, but admits he was working on adrenaline and trying to stay focused. “We’re from the South, man, and we help each other. We help our neighbors,” Casey said. “I mean, I would hope somebody would do the same for me.”
