CHARITY DONATES 100,000 GRAPHIC NOVELS TO MILITARY FAMILIES

A non-profit organization dedicated to supporting service members and their children just delivered a massive dose of superhero joy, donating a record-breaking 100,000 graphic novels to military families across the country.

ComicBooks for Troops teamed up with graphic novel creator Gabriel Valentin and publisher Mad Cave to pull off the largest single donation in the charity’s history.

The idea was set in motion after Gabriel, creator of the Digital Lizards of Doom graphic novel series, explained to ComicBooks for Troops founder Mark Weiss that frequently moving can make reading milestone goals tough for military kids. The charity stepped in with engaging graphic novels to make reading fun.

The huge shipment was distributed across bases and service agencies in Illinois, North Carolina, Colorado, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., giving thousands of young readers a brand-new reason to smile.
