Back in 2018, Angelina and Edward Lado — who moved from South Sudan to Canada — won a $2.5 million scratch-off jackpot. The money was life-changing, of course, and allowed Edward to rescue his mother from a refugee camp in Uganda.
Fast forward to 2026 and — wouldn’t you know it — Angelina and Edward have won big all over again, taking home a $675,000 top prize from a simple $4 ticket.
Edward admitted he was skeptical upon hearing the good news from Angelina. I thought maybe she was bluffing when she told me,” Edward said. “I really couldn’t believe it. I told her to calm down and when I come home, we will see if it is for real.”
Luckily, the couple had been through this process before and knew exactly what to do.
Angelina and Edward are still getting used to the idea of being two-time winners and don’t have any immediate plans for the money. But they’ve had so much fun and success playing the lottery that they’ll continue spending a few bucks here and there, just to see what happens next.
