As employers start to reorganize a return to the office for their employees, they might want to take note of a new survey.
Nearly 60% of respondents in a non-scientific poll of 2,000 Americans say they’d choose free mental health resources from their employers over free food.
For the record, that’s about four times as many as those who cited an interest in the work itself, according to the poll from Vida Health.
Interestingly, the poll also noted that for those looking for a new job, 62% consider it a “red flag” when they see job listings promising “how fun it is” to work for that company. Fifty-three percent say they’re immediately suspicious when they see perks like in-house ping pong tables and coffee bars.
That said, that suspicion was far more common with those aged 25-40 — more than 30% of in that group who were surveyed said such advertising gave them a bad feeling about the job.
Not surprisingly, nearly 60% said health benefits were the most important thing a job can offer — other than a salary, of course.
So maybe lose the Hawaiian Shirt Fridays, employers, and beef up the dental plan.
