Scientists concur with Meghan Trainor: It’s all about that bass

If you wanna get people to the dance floor, listen to Meghan Trainor — and scientists from McMaster University: It’s all about that bass.

The scientists tapped electronic duo Orphx with finding out which frequencies got people to get their freak on on the dance floor. They observed that people shook their moneymakers 11.8% more when special bass-enhanced speakers were turned on versus when they were subtly turned off.

Since the audience couldn’t hear the bass frequencies — but could feel them through their bodies — the scientists concluded that feeling physically made people want to get up and dance.
