While monetary tips have become a common practice, some people don’t believe it should be mandatory.
One recent example involves a woman who refused to give her pizza delivery guy a monetary tip, and is now the subject of a viral video.
The video clip, shared across social media platforms — including YouTube where it’s received over 98,000 views so far — was taken from the door camera. It shows the delivery, armed with a pizza, discovering a sign on the door that reads, “No money for tip, please take a slice of pizza instead.”
Left with no other choice, the delivery person opens the box to grab a pizza slice and bites into it after removing his mask.
The customer’s refusal to give a monetary tip to the pizza delivery guy was met with criticism from internet users who wanted to know why the customer had the pizza delivered in the first place. They also reminded the customer that most of the earnings of the delivery persons come from tips.
