After an extensive nationwide search, the City of The Dalles has received an accepted job offer for the position of Police Chief. The City is pleased with the responses that we received from many highly qualified candidates. The police chief selection panel include Mayor Rich Mays, local business owner Jorge Barragan, Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Lisa Farquharson, former Chief of Police Jay Waterbury, Human Resources Director Daniel Hunter and City Manager Julie Krueger. Following interviews, the panel unanimously agreed on the top choice, Thomas Worthy.

Tom said “I am honored to be selected as the next Chief of The Dalles Police Department. I am eager to get to The Dalles and begin to form the relationships and connections that will continue to improve the professional service that we provide, and that the community rightfully expects”.
We hope you will all join us in welcoming Tom to the community.
