20th COVID-19 Death in Wasco County

Sadly, a third resident of the Oregon Veterans’ Home has died of COVID-19, marking the 20th COVID death in Wasco County. The resident tested positive for COVID on Dec. 14 and died that day.

We extend our deepest sympathy to the families and friends of all who have lost a loved one in this pandemic. An outbreak was first reported at the Oregon Veterans’ Home on Oct. 25, and 32 cases are connected to it.

As we head into the holiday season, with rapidly rising case counts in Oregon, including 176 cases in Wasco County in the last two weeks, please take all precautions to help slow the spread of the virus. Wear a mask, stay physically distant from those not in your household, frequently wash your hands, avoid the social gatherings that are driving COVID’s spread, and stay home if you’re sick.
