ANGRY SOCCER FAN SAVES WOMAN STUCK IN MUD

As a fan of the Arsenal soccer team, Alastair Cass had a rough day watching sports because his team lost 3-0. In his frustration after the loss, Alastair threw up his hands and walked outside to blow off steam on his 150-acre property in Devon, England.

That loss, and that walk outside, ended up being a great thing for a local woman named Sallie who was stuck chest-deep in a nearby freezing mud ditch for four hours.

Alastair heard Sallie yelling for help, hopped on his ATV, and found her. He grabbed ropes and wooden boards to stabilize her while calling emergency crews.

It took a massive rescue crew two hours to get her out of trouble, but it all worked out. After Sallie was safe at home and warmed up, she sent Alastair a thank-you card praising his rescue efforts — as well as some thanks to his soccer team for being so bad that it kickstarted his rescue mission.
