This thief evidently did not need a bigger boat.
According to WINK, Nate Winkler of Port Charlotte, Florida, was robbed of his beloved Sandra, a 7-foot fiberglass replica of a sandbar shark that he’d caught and released on a fishing trip some 10 years ago.
Sandra had long been affixed to a wall outside the front of Winkler’s house until she was stolen.
“Sandra, if you’re out there, know we’re worried sick about you,” Winkler says. “For those of who may have taken Sandra, please know we’re not upset with you. We just want her returned safely home.”
Winkler said he reported the crime when it happened.
“It is [the detective’s] first missing shark case,” Winkler says. “I asked if they had anybody more experienced on the force that had done missing shark cases before, but unfortunately, they do not.”
