The Discovery Center Board met Wednesday to hear an update on the effects of the Rowena Fire on the Center. Executive Director Cheryl Ragar said the interior spaces were covered in a thin layer of ash and dust that would have thoroughly cleaned before the center could reopen:
“The was one little spot off from our café that part of the edging caught. That has to be fixed up. Our grounds have quite a bit of damage, including some of the fencing, so that has to get taken care of, because we want everybody back, but we want it to be safe when they come back.
She said with any luck, the facility could reopen in mid-July.
