Voluntary Water Restrictions
The City of Condon is asking residents to voluntarily reduce water usage. As of 1:00 pm June 26th the booster pumps at City Farm have been running for 37 hours straight and is not keeping up with demand. This is not an issue of not enough water, but an issue with usage exceeding the ability of the pumps to move water 8-miles up the hill to the reservoir. The pumps run at 325 gpm and usage has regularly exceeded 500 gpm for extended periods. Residents are asked to not water outside between the hours of 9:00 am and 6:00 pm. If the reservoir does not recover, it will limit the amount of water available for fire suppression.
If there are any questions please contact City of Condon Public Works Superintendent Gibb Wilkins at [email protected] or call City Hall at 541-384-2711. If voluntary water restrictions do not work, the City will have to implement mandatory water restrictions.
