The perfect story for a Monday: If you’re like one in four Americans, chances are you think your life is pretty boring.
That’s one of the takeaways from a survey of 2,000 people in this country that was conducted by Talker Research on behalf of the RV company Storyteller Overland. Further, 27% say they’re in a rut.
However, it’s not all bad: 36% of those polled say they’ve only gotten more adventurous as they’ve gotten older, with 42 being the “perfect” age to do something new, travelwise. Eighty-three percent say you’re never too old to do something to get out of that rut.
To that end, 46% say anything that gets them out of their daily routine is an adventure — so you don’t exactly have to be Indiana Jones to reap the benefits. In fact, 30% say just leaving that daily grind makes them appreciate life more.
Thirty-four percent say they’ll travel to chase warm weather; 33% just want a change of location; 33% want to go on a trip with family.
In fact, the average American thinks about getting away four times a day — and a majority of Americans from all age groups, from millennials to baby boomers, take four to five trips a year.
