Cleveland, Ohio, tops list of the “Most Stressed Cities” in U.S.

With inflation high and crime rising in many major cities, Americans are feeling stressed.

That’s the thrust of a new survey from the financial folks at WalletHub to find out just what’s giving us the jitters — and which cities have it the worst.

Taking a look at data from 180 major cities in the U.S. of A, WalletHub reviewed everything from unemployment to crime, divorce rates and how much sleep residents get.

To that end, Cleveland, Ohio, took the unenviable crown as the Most Stressed City in America.

The city has a high divorce rate — with the third-highest-level of family stress, coupled with a poverty rate second only to Detroit, Michigan, and a rate of financial stress that topped all the competition.

Coming in second was Detroit, with Baltimore, Maryland, in third; Birmingham, Alabama, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, respectively rounded out the top five.

And the least-stressed city, according to the data? Burlington, Vermont.
