According to the Transportation Security Administration, its agents screened 12,444,304 people between Thursday and Monday — even more than before the pandemic.
In fact, the TSA screened 216,161 more people over that period than it did in 2019, says the agency, which recently announced it started to bump many of its part-time employees to full time to deal with an expected summer travel rush.
