Jacob Wilson Charged with Murder in the Second Degree

Statement from Wasco Co DA Matthew Ellis

April 6, 2023

(THE DALLES, Ore.) Today, Wasco County District Attorney Matthew Ellis announced that Jacob Wilson (32) is being charged with Murder in the Second Degree, two counts of Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Assault in the Fourth Degree, and Menacing.  In the late night/early morning hours of April 5th and 6th, in a residence in The Dalles, Wilson stabbed Amber Tracey with a kitchen knife, causing her death.  Wilson also assaulted his mother, Tamera Viers, striking her with a coffee can and attacking her with the knife.  Wilson has been arrested, and he is currently in custody at NORCOR.  He was scheduled for arraignment today, but refused to leave his cell to come to court.

The Wasco County District Attorney’s Office thanks The Dalles City Police and the Major Crimes Team for working overnight to investigate the matter and bring Wilson into custody.

A charging instrument is only an accusation of a crime. Wilson is innocent unless and until proven guilty.

To the best of our knowledge, Wilson’s investigation and arrest has no relation to the investigation regarding Amanda Harman’s murder.

No additional information is available for release at this time.
