That’s a lot of pork: Woman steals nearly $100K from her meat center job

A Connecticut woman was placed behind bars after stealing close to $100,000 from her job at the local meat center.

WFSB reports Marissa Ganavage, 49, was arrested by Watertown police for allegedly pilfering $90,000 from the Watertown Meat Center.

How was she able to pull it off? Detective Kevin Conard notes she stole money over a period of time.

Conard says the suspect started her scheme in January 2022 and would manipulate transactions she oversaw. Her alleged ploy of skimming the cash register ran until October 2022.

She was charged with first-degree larceny, and bond was set at $50,000. Ganavage has since been released. She is due back in court on February 15.
