Woman boots bridesmaid for wearing wrong dress to wedding

A woman is asking if she’s the jerk for kicking out a bridesmaid who wore the wrong dress to her wedding.

The woman shared the story on Reddit, explaining she had a winter-themed wedding and bought her bridesmaids forest green gowns. She said a woman in her bridal party named Kat, “Immediately expressed that she thought forest green was a bad choice” and said it was “not a flattering color.”

Kat wanted a more feminine color and suggested other possibilities, like pink or red, but the bride remained firm. The bridesmaid then discovered the maid of honor would wear a black dress and begged to switch, which again the bride shot down. Apparently she wanted the maid of honor to be the only person wearing black that day.

The story continues with Kat showing up to the wedding late and in a black dress. “I confronted Kat and asked her what was going on. She said she hates her bridesmaid dress, as the color is ugly and makes her look gross so she’s wearing black,” she explained.

Kat refused to change and even chewed out the bride, calling her “a horrible inconsiderate friend” for forcing her to wear something she hated.

The bride said she called security after her so-called friend began making a big scene, and Kat was dragged out of the venue. “The wedding went on and it was truly amazing,” she added.

The story continued, “Ever since the wedding Kat has been blowing up my phone with texts saying some really nasty things and asking for the money back she spent on the black dress, since it was a waste and she didn’t get to wear it.”

The thread amassed nearly 4,000 comments, with the majority telling the bride not to pay up.
