Authorities in Minnesota believe that a large chunk of metal found in a cornfield earlier this month may have fallen from space.
The metallic object, which is about 11 feet in diameter, was discovered in rural Stevens County, Minnesota. Experts now believe it could be debris from a rocket launched from China in September. According to a report by Ars Technica, the object’s size matches the rocket’s upper stage, and social media tracking data suggested debris from the launch was headed toward Minnesota. Federal agencies are now examining the object to confirm its origin, while China has not yet commented. (UPI)
