A hungry bear in California emerged from Hundred Acre Wood to make an unexpected stop at the Mammoth Lakes library, and its timing couldn’t have been better.
On the 100th anniversary of Winnie the Pooh’s first appearance, the bear wandered into the library before dawn and went straight for the staff snack stash, helping itself to peanut butter, cookies, fruit cups, and — of course — a jar of honey. Library officials say the bear browsed the shelves for a bit before leaving on its own. Even more surprising, the furry visitor didn’t damage any books or knock over any shelves. The only thing still missing? That jar of honey.
