The City of Mosier is aware of concerns regarding access to Rock Creek Park following the railroad siding extension project, related to clearance beneath the railroad bridge.
The posted signage has height restriction of 9′ 8″ and vehicle length of 18′ along with a sign stating reduced clearance.
We understand the impact this has had on visitors with larger vehicles and appreciate everyone’s patience as we work toward a long-term solution.
Because of the area’s unique constraints—including the presence of a protected native salmon-bearing stream, challenging topography, and drainage issues on the access road, there is no simple or immediate fix.
The City is actively working with our partners, including Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR), Willamette Partnership, Mosier Watershed Council, Oregon State Parks, and the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW), to identify potential grant opportunities for technical assistance, engineering, and future construction funding.
To help us better understand the extent of the issue, we are asking those who Can no longer access the park to share information about their vehicles, including:
- Vehicle Type
- Overall Height
- Overall Length

We also recognize that the current wastewater treatment facility project has reduced available parking outside the park gate, further limiting access for some visitors.
