Despite what her car might say, Nancy Dello Stritto doesn’t want to squeeze anyone’s behind.
Dello Stritto, a resident of Pompano Beach, Florida, tells CBS News Miami that she got a new license plate in the mail that reads “SQZ A55.”
The plate comes complete with two Florida oranges in the middle, which probably doesn’t help matters.
“I don’t think a senior who is almost 77 will be driving around with a plate that has that to say,” Dello Stritto says. “When I saw that, I went ballistic. I said, ‘How could that pass inspection?'”
Despite Dello Stritto’s consternation, the people in her life are overwhelmingly in favor of the new plate. An informal poll among her friends and family members voted 16-1 for “SQZ A55” to stay.
Dello Stritto will continue to drive the “SQZ A55” mobile for the time being, but plans to report the plate to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.
“I’m resigned to it; maybe it was destined for it to be on my car,” she says. “I can handle it; maybe I’ll even get some honks.”
