THE DALLES, Oregon (June 18, 2026) — Patients at Adventist Health Columbia Gorge’s Celilo Cancer Center were recently wrapped in comfort and compassion, thanks to a generous donation of blankets and care packs from Tonkin of the Gorge as part of Subaru’s annual Share the Love initiative.
During each Share the Love campaign, Subaru and participating retailers contribute a set amount for every new vehicle purchased or leased to hometown organizations. Tonkin of the Gorge chose to support their local cancer treatment center, as they have for many years.
Adventist Health Columbia Gorge leaders were on hand to accept the donated items. “These blankets and care packs are a reminder to our patients that they are surrounded by a supportive community,” said Amanda Brown, Adventist Health Columbia Gorge Foundation Director. “Tonkin of the Gorge has shown up for our cancer center time and again, and their generosity leaves a lasting imprint. It’s the kind of care patients can truly feel on their hardest days as well as on the days when they’re finding their strength again.”
