Costco meatloaf and mashed potatoes voluntarily recalled over salmonella concerns

Premade meatloaf and mashed potato kits sold in the refrigerated section at Costco have been voluntarily recalled due to potential salmonella contamination.

In a letter to customers, Costco said one of its ingredient suppliers, Griffith Foods Inc., announced the recall of an ingredient used in its Meatloaf with Mashed Yukon Potatoes and Glaze refrigerated trays.

According to Costco, the affected items were sold at the warehouse retailer between March 2 and March 13, 2026.

Affected products are labeled with “sell by” dates between March 5, 2026, and March 16, 2026, Costco said.

The recalled products were sold at Costco locations in multiple states, including Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin, as well as Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico.

According to Costco, no illnesses or injuries have been reported in connection with the recall.

“Do not consume any product that is part of this recall. You can return it to your local Costco for a full refund,” the company said.

Customers can reach out to Costco’s customer service team with any questions, the company added.
