Great news for Rowena fire victims coming out of this morning’s Wasco County Commissioners meeting. The State of Oregon has come through with a 3 and a half million dollar grant for cleanup of the Rowena Fire, the exact cost of a bid from Crestline Construction. Commissioners expect to sign the contract with Crestline today and start mobilization next week. Commission Chair Scott Hege put it this way:
12 03 25 Scott: “Excellent! That’s fantastic news. For everybody that has been following this, this has been a long and very arduous process for us, which is minor compared with what folks are doing day to day, but it does mean that the cleanup is likely gonna happen and likely gonna start next week, and that is gonna be fantastic.”
