Bear bears down on Japanese golf course

The golf course may be home to birdies and eagles, but usually not bears.

Nevertheless, that’s exactly what halted the start of JLPGA Tour golf event in Japan.

According to The Japan Times, a bear was spotted close to the first tee, causing organizers to cancel the first day of the tournament.

Bear-lieve it or not, this isn’t the first time a Japanese golf tournament has been interrupted by a bear. The final round of an event in May was also canceled due to a bear sighting.

Maybe the bears just want to play a few holes themselves. They’ll even bring their own clubs, er, cubs.
