Customer satisfaction with air travel increases; JetBlue, Delta & Southwest among the top airlines

While it may seem like folks are constantly complaining about air travel these days, a new report suggests travelers are actually getting a little bit happier with their experience.

J.D. Power just came out with its 2025 North America Airline Satisfaction Study, which finds that overall airline satisfaction is actually up six points from last year. Surprisingly, the satisfaction numbers are boosted by folks flying in economy/basic economy, which saw an eight-point improvement. Passenger satisfaction with airline staff saw a nine-point increase for economy/basic economy travelers.

When it comes to specific airlines, JetBlue is everyone’s favorite with first/business class travelers, followed by Delta Air Lines and Alaska Airlines. Delta, though, lands on top specifically for premium economy for a third year, with JetBlue in second and Alaska third. Finally, Southwest Airlines ranks highest in customer satisfaction for economy/basic economy for a fourth year in a row, followed by JetBlue and Delta.
