Extremely Cold Temperatures Forecasted Next Week, Emergency Shelter To Open In The Dalles

Due to extremely cold temperatures in the forecast for next week, Mid-Columbia Community Action Council (MCCAC) has made the decision to activate Emergency Shelter at The Gloria Center at 2505 W. 7th St. in The Dalles.

The Emergency Shelter will open next Monday, Feb. 10 at 4 pm and will be open 24 hours a day while it is activated. Emergency Shelter operations will be led by MCCAC staff and supported by community volunteers. Support provided will include warm shelter, bedding and clothing items, food, water, hygiene and first aid items, and connections to community resources.

For up-to-date information on Emergency Shelter operations visit the MCCAC website and/or Facebook page. For information about other services including supply bundles and transportation, visit the Severe Weather Resources page of our website. In addition to Emergency Shelter at The Gloria Center, MCCAC also operates The Annex and the Hood River Warming Shelter.
