The baby names that ran out the door in 2024

Olivia and Noah are the most popular baby names of 2024, according to BabyCenter.com — but which monikers are going out of style?

The site, which compiles the data after parents register the names of their little ones, has spotted some trends.

Royal names, like Catherine, Anne, Phillip, Albert and Edward, appear to be on the way out, as are male names that end in -aden. Holdovers from the ’80s and ’90s — Jamie, Erin, Kelsey, Chelsea, Kendra, Alexis and Taylor, for example — are also fading into the rear view.

Even though Ellie and Liam finish in the top 10 for 2024, nicknames are largely waning, meaning fewer folks called Liv, Billy, Katie, Danny and Andy.

Overall, girls named Jamie, Katie, Remi, Liv and Analia decreased the most last year, while we seem to be saying farewell to boys known as Jamal, Esteban, Cannon, Emery and Taylor.
