What two-time US presidential hopeful was born in the Panama Canal Zone?

John McCain was the prominent two-time presidential hopeful born in the Panama Canal Zone.

The late Arizona Senator and decorated war hero was born at the Coco Solo Naval Air Station on August 29, 1936, while his father was stationed there with the U.S. Navy. He went on to seek the U.S. presidency twice, launching unsuccessful campaigns for the Republican nomination in 2000 and the general election in 2008.
Because he was born outside of the 50 United States, his birthplace triggered minor public debate during his 2008 campaign regarding the constitutional requirement for a president to be a "natural-born citizen". However, legal scholars and a nonbinding resolution passed by the U.S. Senate confirmed his eligibility, as his parents were U.S. citizens and the area was under U.S. jurisdiction at the time of his birth.
