Wedding season is upon us, but if you’re still planning your Big Day, you might want to think of Vermont.
That’s because a ranking by the jewelry experts at Glamira places the Green Mountain State at the top of the list of the best place to say “I Do.”
The company compiled data on various aspects of wedding planning — from availability of wedding wear to entertainment to availability of hotels for out-of-town guests — and Vermont topped the list.
The state has 603 florists and floral services, the analysts say, as well as 489 photography companies, and 479 beauty and grooming companies.
Coming in second was Rhode Island, dubbed the state that has the best access to bridal attire and accessories in the country.
Montana ranked third and Maine was fourth; the latter boasts 509 event spaces and “15 romantic hotels rated four stars and above.”
New Hampshire ranked fifth, boosted by access to 398 fine jewelry and accessories stores.
For the record, Alaska ranked the worst state in the Union to get married, with just 99 wedding venues and poor access to four-star accommodations.
While undoubtedly a sought-after place to get married, Hawaii was considered next-worst, because it’s so expensive: a one-night stay at a four-star romantic hotel in the 50th state costs $272 above the national average. Also, because it’s so popular, you’ll have trouble finding available venues, photographers and the like.
