(NOTE NATURE) Ah, the 2024 Olympics — the sights, the sounds, over 14,000 athletes and 300,000 condoms.
Yes, you read that right. A TikTok video posted by Canadian sailor Sarah Douglas reveals the Olympic-branded condoms in colorful packages with messages such as “On the field of love, play fair [and] ask for consent” and ”No need to be a gold medalist to wear it.”
Other messages include, “Score a win: Yes to consent, no to STDs,” “Don’t share more than victory: Protect yourself against STDs” and “Fair play, safe play: Consent first.”
The practice isn’t new. Condoms have reportedly been provided to Olympians since at least the 1988 Seoul Olympics, according to People.
