Employer survey shows they want to work from home, too — even as they clamp down on employees

After years of working from home, many employers have mandated their workers come back to the office — even as they want to work from home.

That’s the takeaway from a survey from software firm Checkr, which shows that 68% of bosses — including middle managers, executives and business owners — want to keep working remotely.

Interestingly, less than half of the employees felt the same way, according to the survey of 3,000 people.

Fifty-six percent of managers think it’s a red flag if employees want to keep working from home, while just 38% of employees who prefer it say that.

The survey did find some common ground between bosses and their employees, however: 78% of management and 82% of employees want to see work-life balance and boundaries with at-home work improve in 2024.

Fifty-two percent of managers would take four-day workweeks over a higher salary in 2024; 48% of employees agreed.

And more than 80% of executives and employees want flexibility where they work.
