The Dalles Police Department responds to three separate overdose incidents

The Dalles Police Department and other local emergency responders were called to three separate overdose incidents on July 16th; all within two hours of each other. We have seen many social media posts about this and can confirm there were indeed at least three overdose responses yesterday alone. Fortunately, there were no fatalities as all people were save by Narcan administered by bystanders.

Possession of controlled substances is still illegal under ORS 475.752. If caught in possession of illegal control substances, you will be cited and provided a 24 hour addiction hotline to call.

The Dalles Police Department encourages anybody who is having a difficult time to reach out to an addiction specialist to get the help you need.

Dealing and delivery of controlled substance is also illegal and if caught, you will be arrested and charged. Again, we encourage you to seek help with an addiction specialist. You can start by calling the Oregon substance abuse hotline at 800-923-4357
