Oregon Open Primaries, a local grassroots election reform advocacy group, will officially launch a new ballot measure to reshape primary elections in Oregon and increase voting access to celebrate National Voter Registration Day tomorrow morning, September 20.
The Oregon Secretary of State just approved Initiative Petition 2024-16 for sponsorship signature collection. IP 16 will establish open primary elections allowing more than 1.2 million Oregonians access to our democracy — that’s 41 percent of registered Oregon voters who are currently excluded from an equal voice in primary elections across the state.
At 9 a.m. on September 20 All Oregon Votes launches its new website: www.AllOregonVotes.org and officially begins accepting signatures to qualify for the ballot.
