The Old Dufur Road Fire was reported to Wasco County Dispatch at 12:59 PM near Highway 197 between mile marker posts two and four. Resources on site include Columbia Rural Fire Protection District, Mid-Columbia Fire Rescue, Dallesport Fire Station, Oregon Department of Forestry and Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area – U.S. Forest Service.
The fire burned 25 acres and is now 90% contained. Fire personnel will be performing a small burnout, which will cause it to be 100% contained. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time. There were no evacuations and no structures affected. This is the final update.
A fire was reported Tuesday morning south of Grass Valley. Sherman County Emergency Services reported local fire agencies and locals turned out to get the fire out.
