Adios, Choco Taco

(NOTE LANGUAGE) Alas, a staple of the summer is no more. Klondike, the maker of the Choco Taco, says it is discontinuing the favorite frozen treat after 40 years.

The taco-shaped confection layered ice cream and chocolate inside a nut-covered waffle shell. According to the company, it had to bid adios to the dessert.

“Unfortunately, the Choco Taco has been discontinued in both 1ct and 4ct packs,” Klondike confirmed in a tweet Monday, adding, “Over the past 2 years, we have experienced an unprecedented spike in demand across our portfolio and have had to make very tough decisions to ensure availability of our full portfolio nationwide.”

Fans were quick to mourn the loss, with one noting, “Three generations of my family are devastated by this news.”

Another griped, “This is what’s finally going to cause me to snap.”

Another fan had a similarly pessimistic view: “We lose David Warner and Paul Sorvino, my computer goes a** up and the Choco Taco is discontinued for an asinine corporate decision. Screw you, world.”
