Party foul: Three in 10 hosts have forgotten to buy food for their guests

new survey finds 57% of Americans want to hang out with their friends at least once a month. And while 69% say they’ve mastered the art of hosting parties, it seems some need some help.

In fact, the poll of 2,000 Americans that was sponsored by Chinet reveals that three in 10 admit they’ve forgotten to buy food for their get-togethers.

Other last-minute oopsies included forgetting to buy disposable plates and cups — but bear in mind, the source of the survey is a company that sells both.

The survey also revealed people anticipate spending an average of $152 on each gathering, but that usually goes out the window with last-minute grabs of soda and ice.

However, it’s worth it, respondents say: 74% of those polled consider getting together with friends as good for their health as a therapy session.
