It’s no secret Americans love their dogs, but a vet services company drilled deeper to see which states love their furry friends the most.
Polling nearly 192,000 people, the company Embark crunched the numbers based a series of metrics, like how many times a person’s pet goes to the vet, how much time they spend with their dog and, yes, even how their dog’s breath is.
For the record, New Yorkers’ dogs have the best-smelling breath — well, more accurately, New York dog owners get their pooches’ pearly whites checked most often, so nobody actually did sniff tests, thankfully.
Other findings revealed that Alaskans overall kept after their dogs’ health care most commonly, and Indianans were most likely to sleep with their dogs.
Californians’ mutts watch the most TV and have the most playdates with other pups.
Dogs in Connecticut were most likely to see their birthdays celebrated by their hoomans, while Maine’s residents actually spend the most time with their four-legged friends.
