Seagulls are becoming such a problem in the tourist mecca of Venice, Italy that hotels have started giving out water guns to guests in an attempt to help them ward off the birds from swooping down and snagging their meals.
According to Ansa, the seagulls have become an endemic recently, but it seems the water pistols are actually helping with things.
“They really work, they’re also colored orange, which those birds don’t like,” said Paolo Lorenzoni, director of the historic Gritti Hotel near the Grand Canal.
