Who knew a cooler qualified as a motorized vehicle?

No driver’s license means no driving — period. Not even a motorized cooler.

A 25-year-old Australian man recently learned that lesson the hard way when police “intercepted” him while riding a “motorized esky” on a sidewalk, according to a Facebook post by Swan Hill Police.

What’s wrong with that?  Two things: “This motorised esky is considered a vehicle due to the size/engine capacity and must comply with legistlative requirements and road rules,” the post explained. And, the guy riding the so-called unregistered vehicle didn’t have a driver’s license, and reportedly never has.

As a result, the cooler was impounded for 30 days, meanwhile the man “will receive a summons to appear in court at a later date to face charges of driving unlicensed and driving an unregistered motor vehicle.”
