Maybe you shouldn’t trust that “free car” sign

It’s said there ain’t no such thing as a free lunch.  Or a free car, for that matter.

Take, for example, a vehicle on the side of the road that had a “free car” sign on it and the keys in the ignition.

WLBT reports that two Mississippi men who thought they scored a deal of a lifetime found themselves in the center of a murder investigation because the supposed “free car” had a naked dead body inside the trunk.

Copiah County Sheriff Byron Swilley said the men jumped in the car and drove it to a family member’s home before they made the gruesome discovery, noting the body had been in the car for several days.

The body was later identified as a 34-year-old man.  Police are scouring video footage from homes and businesses around the area where the car was found and have found several hits, but so far have no idea where the crime took place.

Police say the car was parked around 9:30 Saturday morning on the side of the road and was picked up the following day by the unsuspecting men.

Police say they are awaiting results of an autopsy to determine what caused the victim’s death.

So far, no arrests have been made.
